My Life is a Circus...

...not a circus really but sometimes stinks...anyway!
Ok as you probably know, I am pretty much a girly girl. I can get down and dirty if I have to but usually enjoying the frills in life. I mean if you would have asked me two years ago B.B.(Before Boston) about going to a circus, I would have said "Ewww and smell elephant $hit...No thanks." There are just so many things about the circus I just do not like.

  1. The Ringmaster-Seriously, why does he have to talk in the low voice,"Welcome boys and girls...." Weirdo!
  2. The Clowns-You have to think they are creepy? Steve-O use to be a clown and look how nuts he is!
  3. The Motorcyclist-Seven motorcycles going around and around in a hamster steel ball contraption. Oh that's smart. How many times were these people dropped as a kid?
  4. The Elephants-Ok those things are cute...actually asked Dustin if I could have one....he said, "No." Jerk.
  5. The Cotton Candy-$12 for a bag of sugar...I usually do not care about the price of things but I mean REALLY!!
Anyway...we went. And...I loved it...weird ringmaster, clowns, motorcyclist and over-priced cotton candy!

Do you like the circus?

Remember where you were...

Today we lost two amazing people today...Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson.

For me I will always remember Farrah is the beautiful woman with that hair. The one who made Charlie's Angels cool again. A lovely woman with a smile that we could only wish to have. I know we all knew she was sick but she also died at a very young age...too young.

Michael will always be a huge music icon. Whether you loved him personally or not you can not deny the amazing talent he had musically. He invented the moonwalk and still have people imitating him today. I remember dancing to "Beat It" at Saints vs 49ers game at half time...doing the dance now in my head. I remember my mom getting mad because I taped(yes as in cassette tape) over her Billy Jean tape with some of my 90's garbage. Sorry Mom.

They will both be missed terribly and I know I will ALWAYS remember where I was when I heard the news.
What will you remember the most?

Here are a few tweets on the topic....

michabella@KeepItClassyJen Yes I think there can be. My mom raised me on her own & I think it's better to live w/ 1 parent who loves u then live w/ 2

  2. Lizz B
hereslizz@KeepItClassyJen I think so. If the parents can be truly happy apart I think that is better for kids emotionally than miserable together

  3. dalamanna
dalamanna@KeepItClassyJen w/o knowin entire story its unfair to blame but the tummy tuck, the gucci sunglasses, and book tours point to her changing

Grandma's Hands

We are finally back home from Louisville. As much as I LOVE Louisville this trip was different. Not because we lost a family member but because the relationship I saw develop. All last year we were still in the transition of moving back to Louisiana so half time was spent in Louisville and half in Louisiana. Anytime we were in Louisville we stayed at DH's grandmother's house.

Instantly Boston was drawn to her. He would touch her aged face, run his fingers through her grey curls and stare into her wise eyes. They had something special just like his daddy and Grandma. Dustin has ALWAYS been "A Grandma's Boy."

When we got there this time, Boston was a little feverish. He was teething was not interested in playing with his cousins. Then Grandma walked in...suddenly fever started to subside. He ran and reached up for her. It had been seven months since we had last seen her and he still knew. He touched her face, ran his fingers through her hair, and stared intently into her eyes. My heart completely melted seeing my one year old and this beautiful 83 year old woman share something so special.

It came time for us to leave and we all cried not knowing the next time we would see everyone...especially Grandma. She held Dustin tight and I think Boston even tighter. As she gave me a squeeze she said,"Now call me when you all make it home. And Jen...don't you be Twitterin' me!" Gotta love her...I know my Boston certainly does.

Have you ever had a FAVORITE thing? Something that you just had to have? Not like a million dollars or a Ferrari. Something tangible. I have that FAVORITE thing...my guilty pleasure. OREOS. As I get older I know that they are bad for me. That eventually they are going to catch up with me but really I could not give them up if I wanted to.

I see all of this fitness blogs and think...I need to stop with the junk food. Honestly I WISH I could say this is a paid ad, but NO it's not. I just have a problem. Don't believe me? Check this out!

Can I ask a favor?? Can you Digg or Stumble my site?? PUH-LEASE!!!!!

I've met some snakes in my life

So as some of you may know about two weeks ago their was a snake INSIDE of my house.  Yes inside.  Dustin insisted it did nothing wrong and let it go.  Honestly, I wanted to kill it and NO I don't care what you think about that.  Well, lucky for me today I started to finally clean my house that has been untouched since Friday.  Boston was napping so it was the perfect time.  As I am on all fours putting Boston's toys in his toy box, I see something.  It has poked its head out from underneath my sofa where my son had been playing ALL day.  I RAN outside with keys in hand so I could go to the back door to get in my room.  There lies my little boy sleeping.

We get back to the kitchen so I can tweet about the snake before calling Dustin.  I know serious addiction.    After calling Dustin in a panic to get the HELL home, Boston and I grab the puppy and get outside.  I got in the car this time I had a bra AND shoes on unlike last time.  I am thinking WTFrick??

Let's just say the neighbor "GOT RID" of the snake.  Bye Bye Black Snake!   I did learn something though....

--Just when you think you have gotten rid of all of the snakes in your life, there is always one who tries to get back in your life.  What do you do then?  Just ask the snake I met today.

Thank You For All That You Do!

I have a group of girlfriends that I have grown up with the I LOVE!  It seems like no matter what we go through or the time we spend apart we all remain best friends.  One in particular is my friend...let's call her Kimberly.  She has been my partner in crime since the beginning.  We have cried to each other through break ups, warned each other about certain guys, and danced all night until our legs were BURNING!  She is amazing.

We are now both married and with little ones.  You may hear Kimberly's little one every so often in the background of our show.  I have started watching her three times a week(it's been four times lately).  This poor little one has severe separation anxiety from her mommy.  So she has been crying...a lot.  It's been tough on her, me and Boston.  At first I thought,"Is something wrong...is she in pain?"  The remedy always is pick her up.  The crying stops and she's fine.  Problem is I simply can not hold a baby 10 hours a day.  My best friend knows this is getting hard for all of us but I have been trying hard to make this work because I know she needs me.  So today I got this

Twitmatic

I wanted to share with you the site www.twitmatic.com that I found from the http://startuplucky.com site.  Aronado interviewed them on his show and I was fascinated with it.  Twitmatic.com is real time video search and pulls video from over 1000 sources including youtube, vimeo, viddler, blip.tv and so many more!

It is a great way to search for your favorite hobbies, activities in a specific city or even your favorite Twitterers(is that a word because I like it) videos.  I am an avid youtube.com surfer so this is right up my alley!  It seems like so many sites are going to this real-time search format and I LOVE it!

What type of real-time search format would you like??
