PR to Vlogs

"PR to Vlogs was created by the combined efforts of Jen Hinton and Jen Banks. Intended as a tool, this site was born as a means to "bridge the gap" between the Media, PR reps, Business Owners and Experienced Vloggers.

As paper media starts to fade, and the world turns to online social media, companies and advertisers must follow suite in order to reach their target demographic.

Our Vloggers specialize in online social media, as well as a more hands on approach to promoting today's products. Using video as a means of sharing our personal opinions is essential. Not only can the audience see the product and how it works, the reviewer will tend to speak of it on a more personal level, giving the audience the ability to picture it in their own lives.

Companies and PR firms, by signing up you will receive access to your choice of some of the top vloggers in the industry. All who are willing to work with you in showcasing your products/clients."---from www.prtovlogs.com

Today Jen Banks will be on Chicks Who Chat telling ALL about this great new program.  And NO I'm not just saying that because I am helping her with it.  I think it is a great idea and I want to see it grow.  So what do you think of a program like this??

Ok this meme held on The Classy Closet is SUPER fun this week! I am completely 100% the Red High Heels! I am the girly girl, loves to be loud, and I am colorful.

I love to dress up(although since the kiddo don't seem to get to that often)! I have always loved dressing up. I think it was partly because I was a dancer(not stripper kind) all my life. Every recital I got to wear real frillyand froo froo costumes!

I am loud....sometimes. Loud in the sense that I talk only if I can back it up. I am not the kind of person who has diarrhea of the mouth but do not know what the hell I'm saying(that's annoying!) SO I'm loud...the good kind of loud.

I am colorful and bold. I have been exposed to all kinds of things and think I am a well-rounded person. That's the sole purpose of college, right??

Ok so tell me which shoe YOU are and don't forget to link back to the closet!

Little Miss Monday goes transgender

Ok so today I am a dude I guess.  These Monday post are so you can get a little insight about who I am so...STRONG is what I feel.  If you heard the show Friday I said we had a family member pass away.  Anytime there is a loved one who passes away in my family it always stirs up the same emotions for me.  Thoughts of my dad who lives with Jesus (or you better, lol) ALWAYS comes to mind.  I don't think I will ever be able to answer the question is stuck in my mind.  Is it easier to have known someone and see them go or to never get the chance to know them before they go.  Both leave so many "what ifs" and "whys".  Either way I stay strong and patiently wait to find that answer.

I feel as though I am strong because no matter who or what tries to push me down, I am always going to stand up.  There are people in this world SO ready to knock you down when really how much easier would have been to extend a helping hand...really?  Why not work together instead of against each other?  I am a hard worker and no matter what...I will stay strong.

I am strong because I have a husband who 110% supports what I do.  No matter how many projects I start and how many I end...he still believes in me.  That makes me strong.

And I am strong because I am a mother.  A mother to a little boy who knows no bad in this world yet.  Everyday is a day of joy and laughter.  I can be having the worst day in the world, but I stay strong to let him have as many perfect days as he can.  He makes me strong.

Little Miss Mondays

Hello and good Monday!  Let me introduce you to Miss Scatterbrain.  Today Miss Scatterbrain has decided to come to my house at 7am and hit the snooze button three times because she can not seem to remember that she has to meet Ms. New Mom of the little baby I am watching now every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.  Miss Scatterbrain them hurried to the car without the carrier because she forgot that infant's need to be strapped into a car seat.  Silly lady she is!  I also noticed that Miss Scatterbrain was having a hard time putting my son to sleep for nap so it took her an hour and a half.  As she finally gets him to sleep, little baby decides she wants to cry and try to wake him up.  Luckily I was speaking to Extraordinary Mommy and was enjoying the unclutter of Miss Scatterbrain for a few moments.  So now I sit at 2:32pm and Miss Scatterbrain has not remembered to feed me yet as she KNOWS I get grumpy if I'm not fed....Let me now ask her to go home...Miss Helpful is surely on her way....

Have a good one!

So, some of you know that I work for US Family Guide as a National Editorial Director and I LOVE it!  So today was the local Kids Expo and of course I had to attend because it would be perfect to connect with people for the guide.  Dustin, Boston and I get there and see a butt load of kids everywhere so I am thinking this is going to be a TOTALLY fun and productive day.  We start walking around and I realize...I don't have business cards.  Big sigh.  Great!  How am I suppose to exchange info with these people when I DON'T HAVE THE INFO!

Well, we decide to walk around and enjoy this time and let Boston people watch.  In walking around, we see a person dressed as a life size Elmo!  Boston LOVES Elmo...or so we thought.  He tries to embed himself into Dustin's arms the minute we put him anywhere close to Elmo(really a good friend of mine's teen).  I don't have my cards and Boston is freaked out...kids expo not a hit.

I come home grumpy and start to cry.  I tell Dustin I'm stressed and I'm really trying with everything inside of me to make things just work.  I mean I LOVE staying at home and my work, but don't you ever have days when you wonder are things ever going to come together for you??  PLEASE tell me I'm not the only one!  Not sure if I'm truly being emotional or Aunt Flo(that's Eve...) knocking but GEEZ!

Anywho, I am sitting at my computer TRYING to focus on the positive and Wahlah...I get an email from someone.  Let's just say it's been something I've waiting for since the start of the show...someone wants to listen to our shows!!!  More deets soon!  Keep your fingers for us...and for those that wish it doesn't...HA!

On our show this past month we have brought up DV(Domestic Violence) twice due to the recent incident of Rhianna and Chris Brown.  It really has just been weighing on my mind a whole lot.  The first show we had I said,"I have never been personally effected by DV" and when I listened to the replay of the show a few feelings were brought up from deep down in my gut.  The feeling I thought I had thrown away the key to.

You see before I met Dustin, I was previously engaged.  To a guy who made me scared to be napping when he got home as if it were wrong to nap after a long day of work (remind you I had NO kids...just a dog).  Although, if I came home and he was fast asleep it was OKAY because it was him.  The smallest things would make him snap.  Maybe it was the time spent in Afghanistan but still he didn't have the RIGHT to channel his anger at me.  If the house was not clean to his likings...the world would end.  I cried myself to sleep a MANY of nights because of...let's call him Mr. Jerk.  I once looked up signs of verbal abusive and printed them out.  I showed him the list of things he did constantly.  He simply said,"You are CRAZY."  Was I?  I mean everyone else in the world LOVES him!  I began to second guess myself.  My family had invested a lot of time and money(wedding deposits and things for our house) into this relationship.  I hated to leave and disappoint everyone who thought we were "the perfect couple."  I finally left.  Lucky I did because I could have easily been in a situation that could have escalated into much more.

Why is this happening??  1 in 4 people are in a DV situation.  That's FAR to much.

That's ME Thursday

So we created on The Classy Closet so that we can get to know our members better and to let their reader get to know them as well.  This meme is called That's ME Thursdays.  Each week we will have a category of at least five things and we want YOU to make a blog post telling us which one you are and why you choose it.

I chose the obvious The Sarcastic One.  I don't think it takes long for anyone to realize I am the who says what I think even if sometimes its seems a bit snarky.  I am me and LOVE it!!  I never say anything to hurt anyones feelings though...it's all in good fun!

OK so go make your post and link back to The Classy Closet and leave the link to your post in the comment section on CC.

Little Miss Mondays

This weekend I have been Little Miss Lucky because I had a very serious ALMOST tragedy.  I went out with my sister and Boston on Saturday to a local fair during the day.  Before leaving I asked DH to boil a few bottles for me(I never ask him to it).

We went and had a great time...$5 all you can eat gumbo at the booths that were set up....perfect right??  Little Mr. Boston was having a great time people watching and being the most perfect little one year old on a smoldering Louisiana day!

My sis had a wedding to start getting ready for that night so we only went for five hours or so.  I get home.  She puts down the top on her cute VW Bug and drives away.  I have Boston in my arms and we walk into the house.  There was SMOKE everywhere.  I immediately sprint out of the door SCREAMING for my sis who had already made it down my block.  She comes back and I THROW Boston to her, run inside, and grab Daisy(blonde cocker spaniel).  I go back in and immediately see the kitchen is where the smoke it coming from.  The BOTTLES!  The stove was left on as DH was at the gym.  All bottles had completely melted into the pot.  DHHHHH!!

All things turned out ok....loss of bottles that's it.  One way to ween off of them!  The thing that scared me the most was the feelings that were revisited from my past.  Those from Hurricane Katrina where I lost everything that was important to me.  I couldn't imagine losing everything twice...especially Boston's things.

So I am THANKFUL for having my house, my puppy, and my THINGS. Pic of pot coming soon!

Ok today is the VGNO...

Yesterday, I was a day early and tried to get Ann to get the party started early because I was having a bad day. Today has a MUCH better day.  I haven't been annoyed by an idiots yet!

Ok so for today's VGNO this is the party game from Ann :

Time For A Party Game!

Since this is Women's History Month : "Woman - In One Word"

If your first name begins with the letter A - E describe women in one word beginning with the letter W. Since I'm Ann I will proudly shout "WONDERFUL!" Follow the chart to see which letter you will use.

A - E = W
F - J = O
K - O = M
P - T = A
U - Z = N

Since I am a J, my word is suppose to start with O.  My word is omnipotent means having unlimited power.  Did I use the thesaurus...I searched for the synonym of POWERFUL.  I don't mean in a dictator kind of crazy way just powerful in that we can make change!  I love being a woman!

I want to poke my eyes out OR RIP MY NOSE OFF!

It's one of those days....

Wake up to dog breath in my face, DH wanting to be all love-y in my face, and me wanting to PUNCH someone in their face.  Good morning right...talk about wake up on the wrong side of the bed!  I don't really have these days often but this one hit me and HARD!

Get ready for the Chicks Who Chat Morning Show and this beast kid is NOT wanting to take a nap so I can have the ONLY thirty minutes of a day to myself...thank you kid!  We the IT startup woman on and she CRIED and I MISSED IT!  Finally the kid passes out and BTR says, "1 minutes left"

I'm finally enjoying my moment of silence and the kids(parents bought them this house) next store think their BOOMCHICKABOOM music needs to be so loud that it vibrates my house.  Not I will NOT call your parents on you, NOT ME!

Can't a girl just catch a break and NOT want to poke her eyes out??  Join me tonmorow night for a drink with these ladies!

Apparently, the term POKE YOUR EYES OUT was trademarked by someone so let's just say RIP MY NOSE OFF...

LITTLE MISS MONDAYS

I thought it would be fun to start a meme on Mondays that kind of starts off the mood of the week!  This week I am starting with Little Miss Splendid.  Ok so let's start off with the definition.

Main Entry:
splen·did            Listen to the pronunciation of splendid
Pronunciation:
\ˈsplen-dəd\
Function:
adjective
Etymology:
Latin splendidus, from splendÄ“re to shine; perhaps akin to Middle Irish lainn bright
Date:
1624
1: possessing or displaying splendor: as a: shining , brilliant b: marked by showy magnificence2: illustrious , grand3 a: excellent splendid opportunity> b: being out of the ordinary : singular
So why am I SPLENDID??  I am splendid because I have a great family, a new home, real friends, and a great job!  Wouldn't you be splendid?  Life is not full of fun and games but trials and tribulations, but it is about how strong you are at the end of it!  It does not matter how life(people) may try to bring you down.  Close the laptop or walk out of the office and step into the place that matters the most...your home.  Your family should be enough to make you feel out of the ordinary any day!
So yes...I AM SPLENDID!  Are you??

Which one are you???

Watch the trailer for Only in A Woman's World.

You’ll laugh out loud when you watch this trailer for the new series Only in a Woman's World.

Here's what I want to know...which one are you??  I definitely think I am the one what is trying to blow dry my hair with the BEASTLY child trying to hang on me.  I swear before I had a son getting ready was SO much easier.  Now I have to dodge foreign objects, Half-ass the makeup, and the shower....oh the shower.  I swear I get in and I feel like I'm in the military...pit, pit, crotch, crack and I'm OUT!  Don't get me wrong, I LOVE being a mom.  It's just things were SO much easier back then, right?  OH well no point of dwelling on the past!

How has getting ready CHANGED for you since being a mom??
