I have been thinking a lot lately on how lucky I am to have a group of women who are so supportive. Most of us blog daily(it's okay Fiona and Kelly we still love your blogs) and have a show of some sort once a week on MomTv or BTR. We are a group of really diverse women who have all had different walks of life for sure. We have the knitter, the techgoddess, the sewer, the long-winded vlogger, total wellness guru, the pregnant one, and attorney straight-A woman. It is amazing though, no matter what project we are working on as women we band together and help each other grow. It's powerful. I do think though that not everyone is being a part of this ever-growing supportive community. I stoppped to ask my Twitter friends how they empower other women. Here are just a few of the amazing response I received:
I want to share with you 6 Ways To Empower Other Women Online
- Remember that your strengths may not me the same as another women's strength but your value as a woman is the same.
- If you see someone who has an opinion you agree with, uplift her by supporting her thoughts. If you disagree, voice your opinion without attacking.(You know the whole If you haven't anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all or Silence is golden also applies)
- Find a community that is a true support system and be sure to support them in return.
- When you see a new flourishing business by a woman, see it as a community building stronger not a competitor stepping into your playing field.
- Introduce like-minded people to grow a strong foundation of community.
- Do not try to measure someone else's success. Success in your opinion may be different from someone else's opinion.
What do YOU do to empower other women?

Great post Jen! I don't know what I would do without my online friendships and support system.
From,
The long-winded vlogger ;)
I'm the lame ass riding your coat tails but I look good doing it ;) only because you support me :P
Good things to remember. It's true, since I've joined the online scene, I've been so impressed with the creativity, positive support, and just plain awesome-ness I've found. Go chicks!
Jen, Great post!! I always try to remember these important things especially the one about not saying anything if you dont have anything nice to say. Sometimes its best to just be quiet... unless you have something positive to contribute! Thanks for this great post!!
LOVE this post. Women have such a unique opportunity to lift each other up. And sometimes I think we forget that we don't need to compete with one another - there is room for all of our talents. (Even if you're the L7 weenie in the group that falls asleep before 9p and misses all of the good stuff! ;P)
If it weren't for the amazing community of women I've had the good fortune to meet, I really don't think I would've had the courage to try all of the new things I've tried this year. And whether successful endeavors or not, I've always had the support of my awesome peeps. :)
Signed,
The terminal L7 weenie/knitter ;P
I simply encourage them in different ways. Although, my ways of "empowering" don't bring in traffic to their sites, it does lift their confidence and spirit to keep doing the awesome job they are doing... that can be a RT, a shout out on my blog, a text, an email, a comment on their blog.
By creating a circle of friends that are like minded in endeavors both online and off, women will always have that support system to get them through the day.
Let's face it, it's "hard knock blog" out there. lol
Wonderful post my friend. I try to be there for those who need me, a friend when they need a friend, an encourager when they need encourager, a cheerleader to cheer them on when times are tough. Make them laugh when they are down. Give advice when they ask.
There are so many ways to empower and encourage women.
Excellent points! I really like the last one about comparing success. I know I do that too often. I need to spend less time comparing and more time enjoying the successes I have.
So true! My Fav >> Find a community that is a true support system and be sure to support them in return.
