Mission: Squash

My little Boston is growing so fast and switched from nursing to formula within the last couple of weeks. Yesterday we went to the doctor and started discussing feeding Boston the #1 foods...holy crap! And he got shots...it hurt me way more than it hurt him I think! When we got in the car I knew he needed to nap and that I shouldn't turn on his fave Finding Nemo, BUT I felt guilty. I'm mean he was just tormented by the nurse who seemed to careless about stabbing a syringe in my child's legs! So, I let him watch Nemo for half of the drive home...I'm such a sucker!

So, today...
Mission: feed Boston #1 Baby food.

Supplies: blue baby spoon bib, high chair baby, squash(doctor said to do yellow veggies, then green veggies, then fruit). Squash is a yellow veggie, right?

Plan of Attack: Convince him that squash is the yummiest thing in the world.

Mission Complete: He ate about half of it...not too bad. I figured out he was done once he started spitting it at me...not just spitting it out of his mouth but projectile on me!

Tomorrow, repeat this mission minus projectile squash!

Any tricks or suggestions that helped you with your little one??

Use a bouncy chair covered in a towel, a good bib that has the lip on the bottom to catch spills and dribbles and a good first "gummy" baby spoon. Give him very, very small bites and wipe his little lips with the spoon after each bite. I found that the bouncy chair worked better than a high chair at this age and it enables you to get up close to him and "help" him eat. Oh... and if he bites down on the spoon and you can't get it out of his mouth, squeeze his cheeks, it will force him to let go of his grip.
Good luck!!!! I miss those days!!!!
